How to use your Robin Hood Card

Help & advice for using your Robin Hood card

Robin Hood Card smartcard scanner

Using Your Robin Hood Card

You need to touch your card onto a smartcard reader once for each trip made. These readers are located at the entry point with the driver on buses or on the platform at tram stops.

You do not need to touch off, your card is activated for travel when you touch your card to the reader at the start of your bus or tram trip, you don't need to 'beep' off when leaving the bus or tram.

Your Robin Hood Card allows you travel on the operators as specified at any given time, as long as you have enough travel on your season card or money on your Pay-as-you-go card.

When you tap on, the ticket machine will beep displaying a green tick if you have enough credit or a red tick if you don't have enough credit on your card. Please check your balance when you travel, you can check the balance remaining on your card at any of the Robin Hood ticket machines at the bus stops.
