Purchasing a New Robin Hood Card

Visit our Travel Centre at Victoria Bus Station. Our opening hours are:

  • 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday (last transaction will be at 4.45pm with travel advice until 5pm)
  • 9am - 2pm Saturday  (last transaction will be at 1.30pm with travel advice until 2pm) 

If you are buying an Under 19 Season card you will need to bring proof of age: a birth certificate, passport or medical card. If you are buying a Student Season card you will need to bring a valid University or College ID card with an in date course date showing.

You can purchase a Robin Hood Pay As You Go Adult card at any of the Robin Hood ticket machines located in the City Centre and near bus stops around the Robin Hood Network. You can pay by credit or debit card, unfortunately you can't pay with cash. You will need to purchase a card from the machine first, there is a small fee for the initial purchase of the card, this is currently £3. Once you've got your Robin Hood Card you then need to place it on the reader and select how much travel you'd like to add. Minimum top up is £5, maximum is £50.

Keep your Robin Hood PAYG card safe and register your card here. You can also find out the current balance on your card on these machines at any time.

Topping Up a Robin Hood Card

You can top up any Robin Hood Pay As You Go or Season Card at the ticket machines located on street - please see our map of Locations that you can top up your Robin Hood card. Please give the card time to top up before removing it from the machine.

The maximum value you can have on a Robin Hood PAYG card is £100.

Direct Debit

Direct Debit is available for Adult and Under 19 Monthly renewals. Please pop into our Travel Centre in the Victoria Bus Station to complete the Direct Debit Mandate form, where you will need to provide bank details.

To cancel your DD please notify us in person at the Travel Centre in the Victoria Bus Station or email us - [email protected]. We require a notice period of 10 working days prior to the next DD collection date. We also advise you to cancel the DD at your bank once you have informed us of your request.
